Cupcake recipe

Here’s the step-by-step recipe for making your own cupcakes.

Preparing the cupcakes

First, place the paper cases in the cavities of your muffin tray. This will make them easy to remove from the moulds, and ensure a pretty presentation.

In a salad bowl or large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well to distribute evenly.

For this recipe, add the eggs, melted butter, milk and vanilla extract. Mix with a whisk or electric mixer until smooth.

Use an ice-cream scoop or piping bag to fill the cases three-quarters full. This will leave plenty of room for the cupcakes to puff up without overflowing.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes. They’re ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow to cool completely before adding the glaze.

The glaze

In a bowl, whip the softened butter until light and creamy.

Gradually whisk in the powdered sugar at low speed to avoid splashing. Once all the sugar has been incorporated, increase the speed to obtain an airy texture.

Add a tablespoon of milk to make the icing in this recipe softer. You can also add a few drops of food coloring for a personalized touch.

Assembly

To finalize the recipe, pipe the icing onto the cooled cupcakes using a piping bag or spatula.

Give free rein to your creativity by using different sockets to vary the shapes. There are single-use products sold in batches, and reusable products.

Add beads, vermicelli or other decorations of your choice for the visual effect.

With this easy-to-make cupcake recipe, you can now make all kinds of pastries. The right topping for your theme is sure to impress your guests!
